DESCRIPTION:<p>We all know the phrase &ldquo\;It takes a village&rdquo\; &
 ndash\; that&rsquo\;s true of early literacy development as well. And GPL 
 believes it&rsquo\;s important to make sure that the village itself feels 
 equipped to help children learn and grow so that\, by the time they are st
 udents walking into kindergarten\, they have been given a solid literacy f
 oundation and the tools to succeed.<br /><br />This spring the library is 
 hosting its first ever Early Literacy Mini Conference designed to help car
 egivers and educators build that foundation\, share ideas\, and walk away 
 with the resources they need to help children thrive. &nbsp\;<br /><br />T
 hroughout the day attendees will have the opportunity to hear from local e
 xperts on early development for babies and toddlers\, preschool age\, and 
 kindergartners. We're also excited to announce that our keynote speaker is
  author and storyteller\, Mary Jo Huff! &nbsp\;Mary Jo will be leading us 
 through a storytime and offering a hands on activity later in the afternoo
 n.<br /><br />Registration will also include a swag bag\, early literacy w
 orkbook created by library staff\, and a \"storytime in a box\" with books
  and resources. 5 hours of professional credit is available.</p>\n<p>*This
  event is for adults only.</p>
