DESCRIPTION:<p>Gardiner Library's community writing workshop will encourag
 e participants to start writing creatively and learn how to develop a writ
 ing practice. We will explore different avenues for inspiration via readin
 g and discussion of outside texts\, writing prompts\, and reading our work
  aloud. By emphasizing open exchange and exploration\, the workshop will l
 eave its attendees with tools to develop their writing in the genre and fo
 rm of their choice.&nbsp\;<br /><br />We will read and discuss <em>Close R
 ange </em>by Annie Proulx for our February meeting.<br />March - <em>Ameri

  I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities</em> by Chen Chen<br />May -
  <em>Bird by Bird</em> by Anne Lamott<br />June - <em>Proxies: Essays Near
  Knowing</em> by Brian Blanchfield<br />July - <em>Letters to a Young Poet
 : A New Translation and Commentary</em> by Rainer Maria Rilke (translated 
 by Anita Barrows and Joanna Macy)<br /><br />The goal of the course is to 
 encourage artistic exploration and writing in any form\, so the classroom 
 environment will be welcoming\, supportive\, and consistently respectful. 
 While giving feedback\, the focus will be on what the author is aiming to 
 achieve\, as well as the work&rsquo\;s positive elements and potential. At
  no point will anyone be discouraged from writing or pursuing a specific s
 ubject or creative style.&nbsp\;<br /><br />Meets the second Tuesday of ev
 ery month.<br /><br />Registration requested for each monthly workshop. Wa
 lk-ins are welcome.<br /><br />Grace Bialecki is a writer\, literary coach
 \, and workshop facilitator. Her work has appeared in various publications
  including Catapult and Epiphany Magazine where she was a monthly columnis
 t. Bialecki is the co-founder of the storytelling series Thirst\, and the 
 author of the novel Purple Gold (ANTIBOOKCLUB).</p>
