DESCRIPTION:<p>Renowned Detroit historian Clarence M. Burton once wrote\, 
 quite simply George DeWitt Mason was &ldquo\;the dean of Detroit architect
 s.&rdquo\; During his career\, which began in 1873\, Mason played a signif
 icant role in crafting the architectural scene in Metro Detroit. He create
 d numerous historic buildings in and around the city including the Detroit
  Yacht Club\, and the Detroit Masonic Temple\, along with the Grand Hotel 
 on Mackinac Island. He also designed at least twelve homes in Grosse Point
 e such as 1040 Harvard\; 1 Donovan Place\; 33 Oldbrook Lane\; and 315 Lake
 land. &nbsp\;This is part of the Higbie Maxon Agney Lecture Series.&nbsp\;
