He will read from his new novel Our Narrow Hiding Places and will be joined in conversation by n ovelist Jennifer Fawcett. Kristopher Jansma is the author of the novels Why We Came to the City and The Unchang eable Spots of Leopards\, the winner of the Sherwood Anderson Foundat ion Fiction Award and a Pushcart Prize\, and the recipient of an honorable mention for the PEN/Hemingway Award. His short fiction has been published in the Alaska Quarterly Review\, Prairie Schooner\, Story\, and ZYZZYVA. His nonfiction has been published in t he New York Times\, The Sun\, The Millions\, Salon\, Real Simple\, The Believer\, and Elec tric Literature. Kristopher Jansma is an associate professor of Engli sh and the director of the creative writing program at SUNY New Paltz.


Jennifer Fawcett grew up in rural Ontario and spent many yea rs in Canada making theatre before coming to the United States. Her debut novel\, Beneath the Stairs\, was published by Atria and optioned for telev ision by Black Bear Pictures.
