 m>How It Happens</em>. Written by local author Jean Alicia Elster\, <em>Ho
 w It Happens</em> is the intergenerational story of three Black women and 
 their struggle to stake their claim to the American dream. While it is a y
 oung adult novel\, this community read is for both teens and adults.</p>\n
 <p><br />Sterling Heights Library card holders can register to receive a f
 ree copy of the book starting December 15\, 2022\, while supplies last. Th
 e book will be available at the checkout desk starting at 3 p.m. the day a
 fter you register. This is for Sterling Heights card holders\, 13 and up\,
  only. Please one copy per library card number. Once registered\, please p
 ick up the book within two weeks and show ID or library card.&nbsp\;</p>\n
