 Film Series! This month's selection is thriller/mystery \"The Flying Ace\"
  (1926)\, with live musical accompaniment by Cary Brown.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>In
  the film\, a young pilot returns stateside after flying and fighting for 
 France. Once home he returns to his previous life as a railroad detective.
  During World War I\, African Americans joined and trained in the French F
 oreign Legion. The African-American aviator Bessie Colman is believed to h
 ave inspired the character Ruth Sawtelle in The Flying Ace.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p
 >Directed by Richard E. Norman and starring Laurence Criner and Kathryn Bo
 yd\, \"The Flying Ace\" is Norman's only known surviving film.&nbsp\;</p>
