DESCRIPTION:<p>Babies &amp\; Books is a lapsit storytime designed for our 
 youngest patrons and their caregivers. This storytime is based on the earl
 y literacy components of the Every Child Ready to Read Initiative: talking
 \, singing\, reading\, writing\, and playing.</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The 
 program typically lasts for 20-25 minutes\, consisting of several songs an
 d rhymes\, accompanying books\, and fun sensory activities\, with a social
 /play time afterward. Recommended for ages birth to 18 months with attendi
 ng caregivers. The program is held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursday
 s in the Library's Jones Meeting Center. Caregivers may choose which day s
 uits their schedule best to attend.</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>There is no re
 gistration for this program\, but tickets must be obtained at the Children
 's Desk for entry into the room. The Children's Library uses tickets for l
 arge events to ensure we are in compliance with fire code for the safety o
 f our patrons and staff.</p>
