As a historical interpreter at Washington's Headquarters Newburgh < /a>for the past four and a half years\, Matthew has enjoyed illuminating v isitors and audiences about the significant achievements of the \"indispen sable man\" of the American Revolution during its final sixteen months\, a s well as lecturing about the era of the Revolution itself. Matthew volunt eers as a Master Gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam Cou nty\; acts as Honorary President of the Philipstown Garden Club\; and writ es regularly for the Garden Club of America magazine bulletin. He also lec tures in historical horticulture.
