DESCRIPTION:<p>Curtis Chin\, writer\, activist\, and author of the 2024 Mi
 chigan Notable Book\, <em>Everything I Learned\, I Learned in a Chinese Re
 staurant\, </em>will discuss his new book that details his upbringing and 
 time working in his family&rsquo\;s Cantonese restaurant in Detroit. Chin 
 confronts identity as he experiences racism as a Chinese American\, and th
 en again with the growing awareness that he is gay. This story is told wit
 h insight\, compassion\, and humor. In preparation for this author talk\, 
 the Library will host a discussion of<em> Everything I Learned\, I Learned
  in a Chinese Restaurant</em> on March 12 at 7 p.m.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;
 </p>\n<p><em>Registration is required and begins February 25.&nbsp\;</em>B
