SUMMARY:Blue Mountain Killer: The Tale of Matthias Schaumboch
LOCATION:Spring Township Library\, 78C Commerce Drive Wyomissing\, PA 1961
 0
DESCRIPTION:<p>Based on an allegedly true story. In the mid-19th century\,
Matthias Schaumboch and his wife<br />bought a cottage in the Blue Mounta
ins in southeastern Pennsylvania and operated a successful tavern along a<
br />road that connected Philadelphia and Reading to northern and western
parts of the state. On his deathbed years<br />later\, reports claim Matth
ias confessed to killing as many as 14 people\, dismembering their bodies
and scattering<br />them through the heavily forested mountain. Since that
time\, gruesome tales have been handed down through<br />the generations\
, detailing and perhaps enhancing Matthias&rsquo\;s reign of terror. Today
\, the peak is known as Hawk<br />Mountain Sanctuary\, an internationally
famous site that studies and observes raptor migration..</p>
