DESCRIPTION:<p>\"TrashBata\" is a one-woman dance theater production that 
 uses the language of flamenco to speak to the problem of plastic conceived
  and performed by B&aacute\;rbara Mart&iacute\;nez. The &ldquo\;bata de co
 la&rdquo\; is a long train skirt traditionally used by the female flamenco
  dancer in Spanish dance. In this piece\, instead of the usual skirt made 
 out of lively ruffles\, bright colors or polka dots\, a bata made out of t
 rash follows the dancer with every movement. Will we ever escape plastic b
 ottles\, plastic bags\, six-pack rings\, plastic utensils\, and other perm
 utations of this toxic material that we humans blindly over-manufacture an

 position and musical arrangements. B&aacute\;rbara is one of few flamenco 
 artists who perform regularly both as singer and dancer with the major fla
 menco dance companies in the United States\, such as Flamenco Vivo Carlota
  Santana\, A Palo Seco Flamenco Company\, Pasi&oacute\;n y Arte Flamenco C
 ompany\, Sol y Sombra Flamenco Company\, EntreFlamenco\, Cava Flamenco Mia
